Introduction

    • Continue applying until the new grease comes out of the layers continuously, without gaps or air bubbles.

    • If everything goes well, clean the crosshead and the job is done.

  4. If any crosshead cover does not purge the old grease, you need to solve the problem: Try moving the cardan from one side to the other, activating the grease gun, as shown in the illustration. If it is the fork shaft that does not bleed, hit the side of the fork with a rubber mallet to relieve the clamping pressure on the pawl and try to lubricate it.

    • If it is the fork shaft that does not bleed, hit the side of the fork with a rubber mallet to relieve the clamping pressure on the pawl and try to lubricate it.

    • Rotate the gimbal 180 degrees and repeat the procedure on the opposite side.

    • If there is still no bleeding in any of the crosshead covers, loosen the screws and remove the tongue from the side of the cardan fork and lubricate until the four covers are purged. During this operation, the clamps, screws and tabs must always be replaced.

    • Check that the part's internal lubrication channels are not clogged.

    • Reassemble the crosshead and, using a torque wrench, tighten the tabs with a torque of 40 Nm.

    • Repeat the lubrication procedure. If the cover still does not purge, the crosshead must be replaced.
